Trommel Screen

Mechanical Solutions design and manufacture Trommel Screens to suit all applications. Sometimes known as a rotary screen it is an integral part of any processing plant where there is a need for physical size separation. Size separation is achieved as the feed material spirals and tumbles down the length of the rotating drum. Any particles smaller than the chosen screen media passes through whilst larger particles carry on through the trommel. The trommel may have multiple sized apertures down the drum’s length to separate into numerous size fractions, for example you could have 25mm, 100mm and >10mm split.

When designing a trommel screen many factors must be taken into consideration that will all affect the screening efficiency and production rate. Some of these considerations are:

• Drum Rotation Speed
• Feed Rate
• Drum Diameter
• Drum Length
• Incline of the Drum

A Mechanical Solutions Trommel Screen is designed with easily interchangeable screening media. The mats are bolted directly onto the drums frame, meaning when the mats wear out or get damaged individual mats can be replaced. This also offers greater flexibility, allowing the mats to be changed for different size splits if the need arises.
